With almost every team having played 50 games this season, certain players have shown elite play. One of them is none other than Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr., who has impressed experts and baseball insiders. Most recently, MLB insider Russell Dorsey even picked Acuna Jr. as his NL MVP 50 games into the season. Bally Sports shared a video on Twitter of Dorsey explaining why he picked the Braves star.

In the video, the MLB insider says, “I’m going with Ronald Acuna Jr. from the Atlanta Braves. Currently, right now, he’s .330 with 11 home runs, 20 stolen bases. I think he’s going to have a 40-40 year this season. He is the, to me, the most dynamic player in all of Major League Baseball, with both the power and the speed. He’s also been an elite right fielder, about 6 defensive runs saved, 7 outs above average, so far a complete 5-tool player. That guy is electric.”

This season, Acuna Jr. has indeed been electric after a rather disappointing World Baseball Classic. Many wondered if he would be able to play at his best form, and the star outfielder has silenced all of his critics. In fact, he has played some of his best baseball since his knee injury in 2021.

Acuna Jr. seems to have shaken off his bad form from last season

In 2021, Ronald Acuna Jr. injured his knee and spent the majority of the season recovering. Although he came back in 2022, Acuna Jr. did not look the same. His numbers were down across the board and he lacked the electric game that he had become known for. But this season is a different ballgame. The Atlanta Braves star is back to his best form and playing some truly scintillating baseball. Furthermore, he has had an impact, helping the Braves top the AL East. It will be interesting to see how he plays for the rest of the season.
