Right now, National League’s San Diego Padres is playing against the American League’s New York Yankees at their home ground, Yankee Stadium. So far, the Padres have a lead on the series and do not seem to slow down anytime soon. The win in the first game of the series hadn’t come easy. The Yanks put up a good fight and managed to irate Padres’ slugger Juan Soto.
To keep Soto off balance in the first game of the series, Yankees right-hander ace Randy Vásquez, was playing a trick on him. However, it was not the first time in the game that Vásquez was doing so. Hence, when the second time it happened, Soto could not help himself but release his aggression on the field by flipping his bat on the foul territory.

Vásquez was trying to sneak past Soto a cutter ball. For those unversed, a cutter is a ball thrown with a slightly different grip than a fastball, which causes the ball to break more sharply. This makes it difficult for hitters to hit, as they expect a fastball to stay straight.
And since it was not happening the first time in the game, the Padres player wasn’t happy about it. Hence, after fouling off the first cutter off his left knee, Soto hit his hardest-hit home run in the big leagues on the second, giving his team a lead of 2-0. Then, the athlete waited for a few seconds, then trotted toward the first base, flipped his bat, and pounded his chest.
About his said action on the field, Soto then said, “I was a little mad. I fouled it off myself. I don’t like that. Then he threw me the same pitch, trying to make me foul it off again. I was a little [ticked] off. I just took all my madness out on the ball.”
