On an Instagram live on July 11th, the Yankees legend, Alex Rodriguez, talked to a group of Hispanic students, interning in the Presidenteusa offices. The topic of the discussion was to get them to know more about a career in sports.
The talk not only had an impact on the students but also left the player feeling honored.

Alex Rodriguez is ready to step up
The star had always thought there should be more diversity in sports management. For this reason, Rodriguez created a summer internship in collaboration with Presidenteusa and hfsphotos.

Moreover, the internship is specifically for the young talent of Hispanic students pursuing a career in sports.
A-Rod said, “Together, we can bring more diversity to the leadership of sports organizations.” He is doing his part by stepping up. Now it’s our turn to do our part in bringing diversity into sports management.
The right direction can lead to big opportunities
A-Rod was talking to the students, having a brief discussion about what things are like in sports, and what changes are required. Additionally, he talked about how things can improve, all while giving them autographs as well.
He was passing on his legacy to the upcoming generation to take over the reins of sports management. Although the talk had certainly left him feeling honored, he believes together, if we stand, we can bring more diversity and Hispanic talent, that too, youngsters can create wonders no one can think of.

While there is still progress left to make, it will happen, and things will for sure change. All it requires is for all of us to step up to the plate. Hence, this will ensure diversity in the leadership of sports organizations.
MLB has earned a ‘B’ grade for racial hiring from The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES). This is just one of the things that the former player of the New York Yankees believes can change and hopes that it definitely will.
