It happened after his five World Series wins, in which he played a crucial part. And he became a household name in the country because of his success, dedication, and loyalty. And when he announced his retirement, it was an emotional moment for the baseball world. Not only did the rivals share respect for him, but it also made Jeter open up his time in the MLB.

The same was visible in Captain Clutch’s last press conference before hanging his boots. The moment was special as it came at Fenway Park, one center of the century-year-old Yankees-Red Sox rivalry. Jeter, who had witnessed this all his career, reflected on the same while calling a glorious end to his MLB career in 2014.

Derek Jeter termed the time right for leaving the Diamond
It was a special journey for Derek Jeter that started in 1995 and ended in 2014. The former Yankees captain reflected the same while recalling his time as a Yankee player. He also answered many questions related to his decision to retire.

Jeter justified his decision and said, “Uh, felt like the time was right, you know? My emotions were all over the place on Thursday in New York and when I got here I was ready. I was ready for my career to be over with.” The answer was simple but had tons of emotions in it.

It was visible when Jeter appreciated the opportunity to play his last game at Fenway Park. He said, “You know, I’m happy I had an opportunity to come and play here for a couple of games, but I’m ready for this to be the end.” Jeter was at its best even when saying goodbye to the aspiring dream he lived for.
