Alex Rodriguez has turned things around for Minnesota’s professional basketball scene. The former New York Yankees player has established a winning culture in the Timberwolves and the Lynx, taking the teams to new heights. Now it seems like A-Rod has also taken to the state’s baseball club.

Although Rodriguez is a native of Miami, he has played for Seattle, Texas, and New York before. In his 22-season career, he is best known for his time in Pinstripes and lauding the Yankees organization. However, now that he’s retired, it seems like A-Rod is changing colors.

Given the amount of time the former shortstop spends in Minnesota with his NBA and WNBA teams, it was only a matter of time before he attended a Twins game. He did so yesterday with his two daughters, Natasha and Ella, posting a picture of the trio at Target Field.

This is because in 2015, the first time A-Rod hit a home run at the Twins’ ballpark, he hit not one but three long balls and helped the Yankees win. Now, after a failed Mets ownership bid, he has taken his talents to NBA.

A-Rod is Set to Become Majority Timberwolves Owner

In 2021, Rodriguez bought part ownership of the T-Wolves with his business partner Marc Lore. Since then, the NBA franchise has appeared in two successive playoffs, something that last happened in 2004. Owners don’t often get a lot of credit but Rodriguez and Lore are certainly doing their part.

In 2024, they will make their final payment to buy the team and officially become majority owners. Being a former athlete fresh off his active years, albeit in a different league, has given A-Rod an innate understanding of how to help players succeed.
