Alex Rodriguez Pens an Emotional Tribute to 81-Year-Old MLB Legend After His Untimely Death Hits Him Hard

Over the course of a 22-year MLB career, Alex Rodriguez achieved everything a baseball star could dream of. Rodriguez was among the best power hitters in the League and was also great as a fielder. Despite being one of the greatest baseball players ever, even A-Rod has people that he looks up to.

Over the years, Rodriguez has talked about the impact that his idols left behind. Most recently, he paid tribute to a baseball legend who passed away, causing his former teammate Derek Jeter to react.

Alex Rodriguez paid tribute to MLB legend and former broadcaster Tim McCarver

Legendary former MLB player and broadcaster Tim McCarver recently passed away at 81, leaving baseball fans mourning. Alex Rodriguez paid tribute to the baseball legend in a post that he shared via Instagram. He lauded McCarver’s achievements and emphasized the impact that he had on the game. A-Rod’s former New York Yankees teammate Derek Jeter reacted to the message and liked it on Instagram.

In the post, Rodriguez said, “Today we lost one of the great baseball men of our time. Tim McCarver leaves behind a tremendous legacy as a player, broadcaster, and ambassador for our sport. As a kid, I remember listening to Tim call the Mets games with Ralph Kiner. I learned a lot of strategy through his eyes and voice, and later, he was kind enough to share lessons learned from his storied career. Most of all, he just loved the game. RIP to a legend, mentor, and friend.”

Fans have reacted to Rodriguez’s tribute as well. Some sent well wishes, “R.I.P. Tim”, “RIP Tim”, “Rest in peace. Amen”. Others lauded A-Rod for his words, “Beautiful words Alex … RIP Tim”, “Respect 🙏🙌🏻”.

The former Yankee third baseman really respected McCarver as a figure in baseball. Rodriguez has been spending a lot of time sending messages and wishes as of late. He recently prepared a special gift for his girlfriend’s birthday. But getting back to baseball, Rodriguez is set for his usual role as an MLB analyst for the 2023 season. Although, this year a familiar face will join him. 

A-Rod and Jeter will be working together again

Alex Rodriguez will be taking up his usual role as an MLB analyst for the 2023 MLB season. But this year he will be joined by Derek Jeter, who recently signed a deal with Fox Sports. The two of them had a feud going on for many years, but that seems to be over.
