Throwback to When Yankees Legend Derek Jeter Got Clicked With Two Times Emmy Award-Winning Actress While Teaching Baseball

Back in his younger days, before getting married, Derek Jeter was famous for two things: being a remarkable ballplayer in the ballparks and dating superstars. Notably, the former Yankees star was the heartthrob of America. From Mariah Carey to Minka Kelly, Jeter dated some high-profile women. However, his one encounter with a 2-time Emmy Award-winning actress has not been talked about much.

With two prime-time Emmys and a mention in TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world, Sarah Jessica Parker has won numerous accolades, including six Golden Globes. And when talking about her connection with the Yankees superstar, the two have appeared in various advertisements as well. 

Why did Derek Jeter appear with the Emmy-winning actress?

Being at the top of the career comes with many perks. That includes appearing in multiple advertisements as well. And for those unversed, Jeter and Parker were part of Macy’s Sport Shop, in 1999.

During the advertisement, the couple evidently got spotted multiple times. Also, the former shortstop did not leave the chance of teaching some tips and tricks of baseball to the Sex and City actress. One of the pictures that went viral was of the actress smiling and Jeter reaching for the bat in her hand.

Taking to Twitter, Jimmy Traina, a Sports Illustrated writer, shared a picture of the same. “Never say this picture of Derek Jeter & Sarah Jessica Parker before, but it’s, um, quite interesting,” he captioned the photo.

Not to forget that when this advertisement was shot, Jeter was reportedly in a relationship with the “Hero” singer Mariah Carey. On the other hand, Parker was in her third year of marriage to Matthew Broderick.

Jeter and Carey met for the first time at a dinner party in 1997. Shortly after that, the former shortstop started dating the actress and singer Mariah Carey. It happened while she was still married to the producer Tommy Mottola.

Carey had spoken various times about her relationship with Jeter. According to her, dating Jeter helped her come out of her abusive marriage with Mottola.
