New York Yankees legend, Derek Jeter has had a fair share of friendships with players while playing the game. And talking about Jeter’s friendship with his teammates, it is impossible not to talk about Alex Rodriguez. What started between the two more than two decades ago is still a topic of debate. Notably, when A-Rod joined the Yankees, his relationship with Jeter was not the same as it was before. But despite that, the two appeared for a momentous event together.

For those unaware, Jeter and A-Rod were close friends before A-Rod said something hurtful to the Yankees captain in the early 2000s. However, being professionals, the two MLB superstars teamed up for one of the biggest MLB events.

The 79th mid-season classic, the All-star game of Major League Baseball, took place on July 17, 2008. Notably, the New York Yankees hosted it at the old Yankee Stadium. Since MLB had two of the biggest star playing for the same team, they utilized the opportunity the most.

When the 2008 All-Star game was around the corner, an advertisement featuring Jeter and A-Rod was enough to create a worldwide buzz about the event. Although it has been over a decade, the video of the same is still doing rounds on social media.

The advertisement showed baseball taking over New York City as the best players of the American and National Leagues got ready to play the last-ever mid-summer classic at Yankee Stadium. The frenemies appeared in the commercial while giving autographs and looking up to see their game taking over the Big Apple.

It’s over, it’s beyond- Jeter

Friend-turned-foes Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were at the peak of their friendship before A-Rod signed his contract with the Rangers. Things started to go downhill after that tension between the two could be easily felt if someone was in the same room with them.
