The first half of the MLB 2023 season has been an exciting affair so far, with multiple teams fighting for the playoffs. One of them is the New York Yankees, who are third in the AL East standings, eight games behind the Tampa Bay Rays. Though they have done well overall, injuries have been their biggest concern this season, more so their captain Aaron Judge’s injury.

Already short of players, the team is missing Aaron Judge for over a month. He is yet to heal from the toe injury sustained against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Though the Yankees have not set any timeline for Judge’s return, the reigning AL MVP shared an update on the injury and return.

It has been a tough season for the New York Yankees captain, who has missed many games because of injuries. Though Judge made a comeback after the first injury, the second injury affected him badly. They also expect the injury to leave a mark for long. Aaron, in conversation with the media, hinted at the same.

Gary Phillips of NY Daily News shared a part from it in his Twitter post. It read, “It’s feeling good walking,” Aaron Judge said of his toe. “It doesn’t feel great. I don’t think I’ll ever be normal, but I’m moving around pretty well right now.”

It further stated that Judge would have to endure pain while playing. According to www.nydailynews.com, the outfielder expects that the injury will take him to heal properly. Judge shared, “I kind of understand you’re going to deal with some pain coming back. So it’s just about getting to a point where it’s tolerable and we’re not setting ourself back here.”

This is a big update, which is more likely to affect the star player. It also points out that Judge might need surgery to get his toe back to the best, but it can put him out of action and deter the plans of having it in this season. It also puts Judge and the Yankees in a difficult position, especially after his big 360 million nine-year contract. Though Judge had a great start to the season, this injury has derailed all the work and will require extra effort for the recovery.

Not the way Judge wanted to progress the 2023 season!

Judge has had a great start to the season. Even after missing many games, he led the scoring charts. He had scored 42 runs and 40 RBIs while averaging 0.291. With 19 home runs, he stays ahead of many players with more appearances than him and could have bettered it with his return. But the latest reports have changed the entire scene. Will Judge be able to make a dominating comeback? Only time will tell.
