The?New York Yankees?are desperate. Brian Cashman has again put his trust in injury-prone players who have only disappointed him. Even the farm system experiment has failed because just after 7 MLB games, Jasson Dominguez has landed on the IL. Can they keep anyone healthy? Or is it time to invest in another player from the opposite coast who has unexpectedly become available?
The Los Angeles Angels have clarified that?Mike Trout?is on the market, should he wish it so. Regarding known players, there is also Cody Bellinger, whose name has been overshadowed by?Shohei Ohtani‘s upcoming free agency. Even Juan Soto could make it to New York after the?former captain made a bid for him. But who is it that the club truly wants in Pinstripes? Baseball gods forbid, it’s a healthy player for once.
Mike Trout is the Best Possible Addition to the New York Yankees

Mike Trout has been stubbornly loyal to LA but his prime years have more or less gone to waste. Along with Ohtani, neither player has tasted World Series success and if they remain with the Halos, they might never do it. While Sho-time’s free agency has been one of the most discussed topics this year, it’s a toss-up whether he will choose the Bronx. When agreeing to his deal with LA Angles in 2017, the Japanese sensation rejected a huge market like New York.
Mike Trout
A right handed power hitter who’s hurt all the time, owed $250 million and aging like milk
Sounds exactly like the type of player Brian Cashman would trade for… https://t.co/q71noPhV8L

Many thought Trout’s loyalty would keep him with the Angels forever but they are finally ready to give him up. And there are three great reasons why he’s the perfect fit for the Yankees. As a fan delicately put it, “A right handed power hitter who?s hurt all the time, owed $250 million and aging like milk.”?Really, the 11x All-Star is practically Brian Cashman’s specialty.
The last few seasons have been tough on Trout, with a horrible slump in 2022 and injuries peppered throughout the years. The 11x All-Star is tragically reminiscent of the Yankees’ big hope, Giancarlo Stanton, who has shocking similarities to Trout. Both considered veterans of the game, their recent performance does not do their massive contracts justice.
But just like the Yankees GM believes in Stanton, much like he did with Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks, Trout seems like the next perfect choice, doesn’t he?
Cody Bellinger, Shohei Ohtani, and Juan Soto Can’t Hold a Candle to Trout
Bellinger has one of the best track records in the league and it also helps that he’s 28, right in his prime years. While it’s uncertain whether the Chicago Cubs will re-sign him after 2023, he will be a much sought-after prospect nevertheless.

The same goes for Juan Soto, whose contract with the San Diego Padres ends after the 2024 season. While he made history by becoming the youngest rookie in the league at 19 years in 2018, the following seasons have seen his flame shadowed.
Nevertheless, both players are great options for any team. Shohei Ohtani will of course be an excellent addition wherever he goes, and his injuries will heal eventually. Which is exactly why Cashman may not choose any of them for the Yankees.

Even if Bronx fans make their feelings about players clear, the Yankees front office may just ignore them like always.
