Philadelphia Phillies clinched the National League wild-card berth. They headed straight to the postseason and it happens to be their 2nd consecutive year. A big deal indeed. Beating the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night, set off a wild celebration not only in the outfield but also on social media. 

The 3-2 win in 10 innings was a cause for cheer considering last year’s baggage. Dating back to last year, the Phillies were ready for another clubhouse bash. They clinched series victories in the NL Division Series and NLCS in Citizens Bank Park the previous season. Unfortunately, when they lost the World Series to Houston last year in 6 games, they knew they had to tie some loose ends this year. 

Philadelphia Phillies Coming Back Hard and Strong

The Phillies cashed in their chips to the playoffs in an amazing moment walking off over the Pirates – special thanks to Johan Rojas. He presented a two-strike single to center in a clutch situation. This sent the crowd of Citizens Bank Park into a frenzy. Not only that, MLBonFox shared an Instagram post displaying how the Fightin’ Phils savagely celebrated their feat. They danced and partied off to Callum Scott’s “Dancing on My Own”. The post was captioned, “BOTTLE POPPIN’ SZN! 🎥: @johnclarknbc”

It is important to note that, apart from clinching a wild-card spot, the Phils secured the No. 4 seed, which brings in the home-field advantage. This can be used to their advantage in each game of the wild-card series, best-of-3. The Phillies also have the highest win total in 2023 after 2011. Winning six in a row they now finish this regular season that most other teams only dream of. 

The feathers on the Phillies’ cap call for a carnival and the essence of the celebration increased when fans joined hands on social media. 

Fan Frenzy On Social Media

Some fans uplifted their spirits while some contemplated what was to happen next. Either way, the fans made it a memorable winning party for the Phillies. 

One fan highlighted the Phillies reclaiming their spot

“We back😈”

Acknowledging their efforts, one fan emoted,

“The Phillies are getting hot at the right time”

Another fan made predictions about how October would be. Perhaps an optimistic future. 

“october will be red, let’s gooooo”.

Yet another fan celebrated that the Phillies were back in form. The comment said, “WE’RE BACKKKK”

A little bit of sarcasm and downplaying is inevitable among fans. One such comment drew comparisons to the Red Sox’ celebration. 

“I think Red Sox did it better but still a cool moment”

The cheer continued among more fans. “Turn it up 👏👏👏👏”
