The second half of this baseball season for the New York Yankees is not what it was supposed to be. The general manager of the team, Brian Cashman, certainly believes in the team and thinks they can bounce back just as easily and also can win the World Series.

The team is now at 75-48, having first place in the AL East. Even then, the team looks out of form. Manager Aaron Boone even took his frustration out in a conference after the Yankees lost to the Blue Jays. Now the general manager and senior vice president of the Yankees has also spoken about his belief in the team.

Brian Cashman remains assured of his team

Having won 64 games in the first half of this season, the Yankees managed to score only 11 wins in the second half. This decline in the play might have some people to lose their confidence in the team, but the general manager Brian Cashman is not one of them.

Sitting at the same place 48 hrs later where Aaron Boone blew up, Cashman talked about his belief in the team. He said“When you’re playing poorly, usually comes in all avenues, and you’re playing poorly, usually look lethargic and and not crisp. This year’s team is like nothing like last year’s team. This team is hungry for a period of time. I believe in this group. It’s a good crew that’s dedicated, that’s hungry, and that’s really talented. They just happened to play poorly for a little longer than we would have expected.”

There are more losses than there are wins in the second half. The whole team and its players are also getting criticized for this sharp decline in performance.

He said, “I certainly acknowledge that this has been a tough stretch, and we certainly take that seriously, but this group has got my belief. I believe strongly in them. I think they’re still capable of everything we ever hoped and dreamed. We have to weather the storm.”
