Shohei Ohtani has become most baseball fans’ favorite player to watch, regardless of whether they’re fans of the Los Angeles Angels. It seems like every time he steps up to the mound, Ohtani makes headlines for one thing or another. He excels on both sides of the ball, breaking both hitting and pitching records. He has already been compared to the legendary Babe Ruth more than once.

The Japanese player is currently on the payroll of the Angels, a team many consider subpar. They certainly have talented players on the roster, Mike Trout being the biggest. But it seems like Ohtani outshines everyone each time. However, the Halos’ performance seems to be improving this season. It’s the last year of Ohtani’s contract with them and no updates have been announced regarding their future yet. Whatever the reason, the Angels just scored a shocking win.

The Halos seem to be falling just short of a win at games this year. It’s still early in the season though and fans have been hoping for a better performance. Yesterday, the team finally delivered. In a game against the Texas Rangers on Friday night, the Angels erased a late four-run deficit to tread to a 5-4 victory.

It’s the first walk-off win of 2023 for the team and it happened in the 10th inning owing to a wild pitch. “It’s nice to have one go our way again, but there was just a lot of good things that we did tonight to get us to that point,” manager Phil Nevin said. “We showed resiliency. We did some really good things.”

The Halos are now tied with the Rangers atop the American League West.

Baseball fans are divided over the manner of the victory

Angels fans are, of course, ecstatic to see this win just days after surprising the St. Louis Cardinals with a win. Ohtani reunited with his World Baseball Classic teammate Lars Nootbaar but left him biting the dust. Fans of the LA team believe this year may have some good things in store just yet.

Some are surprised at seeing how much the level of performance has gone up.

Some fans also had words to say about how the Angles managed a win just because of a wild pitch.
