With every baseball season comes fresh talent that has the power to leave every fan stunned. Such is the case of the New York Yankees’ young prospect, Anthony Volpe. The shortstop was called from the minors to join the big league players in 2023’s spring training. After showing immense talent, Volpe unknowingly led every fan, calling out the Yankees’ front office to bring him on the opening day’s roster. And finally, the fans’ wishes came true when Volpe got the call.
Meanwhile, fans are not the only ones who are impressed by Volpe’s immense hitting and fielding skills. His teammates, including captain Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole, are impressed with the youngster along with pitcher Tommy Kahnle.
What did the pitcher say about Anthony Volpe?

For those unversed, Tommy Kahnle, returning for his second stint in the New York Yankees, signed a contract for two years. And recently, the Yankees’ official Twitter handle announced that the injury that Kahnle suffered would take more time to recover. Hence, they put him on 60 days injured list.

But it seems like even being injured is not stopping the pitcher from talking about the fresh talent on the team. During a recent interview with Foul Territory, Kahnle said, “This kid’s great, man. The young kid keeps his head down, smile on his face. He’s a hell of an athlete, man. I’ve watching this kid; I’m like, fu*k, this kid’s fuc***g good. He’s good, man; I’ve watched him every day. I’m just like, oh man, this kid’s the real deal. I’m excited to watch him the rest of the way.”
Followed by this, the returned pitcher of the Yanks spoke that he feels bad that he has to watch Volpe play via a screen instead of the dugout. Even so, he is happy with the promise shown by Volpe at such a young age of twenty-one.

How is Volpe playing in the big league?
Anthony Volpe, with his first game, became the youngest player to start a Yankees’ season opener only after his idol, Captain Clutch. Up until now, Volpe has had 21 at-bats with .423 OPS. Needless to say, the young player is still adjusting to being the Yankees’ shortstop.
However, even then, he hasn’t lost the faith of any fan who rooted for him to be on the opening-day roster.
