MLB The Show 23 is highly anticipated, with many fans looking forward to testing out the newest features and settings. Many fans are looking forward to playing with their favorite teams and top stars. Among those stars will be none other than Aaron Judge. His exhilarating power-hitting and overall popularity make him a fan favorite even in the game. 

Many expected him or another top star to be the cover athlete, but rising star Jazz Chisholm Jr. was chosen. Most recently, the top 12 rankings for MLB The Show 23 were revealed, causing a Twitter war. 

Aaron Judge topped the list but fans were still unhappy

As expected, Aaron Judge topped the ratings for MLB The Show 23, with a 99 rating. But 4 other stars received the same fabled rating, those being Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Paul Goldschmidt, and Jacob deGrom. Talkin’ Baseball shared the ratings for the top 12 stars in this year’s edition of the game via Twitter.

In a Tweet, they said, “The Top 12 ratings in MLB The Show 23:”, before listing the ratings. Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Paul Goldschmidt, and Jacob deGrom all got 99. Justin Verlander is a 98. Mookie Betts, Max Scherzer, and Nolan Arenado are all 96-rated. Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, and Corbin Burnes are all 95-rated, closing out the top 12.

These ratings have more than ruffled a few feathers, causing an intense Twitter debate. Fans are generally upset with the ratings, wondering how they were assigned. Many fans trashed the game and its rating system as well. They even called out players whose ratings they were unhappy with in particular.

Although there may be doubt around certain players, Judge’s rating is one that most fans are content with. The New York Yankees captain is coming off a historic season in which he led his franchise to the ALCS. 

Judge had a historic 2022 season

Aaron Judge took home the 2022 AL MVP award, after breaking the AL single-season home run record. He hit 62 homers this season, setting a new record after 61 years. Roger Maris set the record all the way back in 1961.
