LA Angels are going through a rough phase in the ongoing MLB season. Despite having a blazing start to the 2022 season, the Angels lost their winning track, and now they have become a mid-table team. Even with players like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani by their side, the Angels have failed big time.

With back-to-back poor performances, there are rumors that the Angels’ marquee player, Mike Trout, is asking for a trade. However, the three-time AL MVP has come forward to put an end to all rumors regarding his future. Not to forget, Trout has signed one of the grandest contracts with the LA Angels in sports history.

It is not that Mike Trout is having a poor season. The reason the Angels are not winning games is their over-dependency on Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. Whenever these two have performed in the same game, the Angels have won those games the most time.

Mike Trout to stay in the LA Angels

In 2019, Mike Trout signed a 12-year contract with the Angels for a whopping $506.7 million, the biggest in Major League Baseball history. But there were rumors that the Angels slugger has asked for a trade, considering the poor season this year.

Talking about the same, Trout denied such reports and said people always make stories about him. He confirmed he wants to stay with the Angels.

“I signed the contract, and this is where I want to be. A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, he wants to be traded. Do this. Do that. I want to win. Everybody knows that,” Trout said.

The Angels star also said that the Angels can still make things right, as they have enough time for that.

“Going into this year, this isn’t where we wanted to be, obviously. Everybody knows that. We’ve still got time to turn this around,” Trout added.

Logically, the Angels are set to have another trophyless season. Do you agree with this?
