October might be over, but the thrill of the World Series is still running high. Even though the rain stopped both teams from playing game three on Monday, the environment is still heated between the Astros and Phillies, especially after the gesture of Justin Verlander on Monday.

With the Houston Astros and Philadelphia giving their all, baseball fans are in for a memorable Fall Classic. After two entertaining games at Minute Maid Park, both teams will play the next four games at Citizen Park in Philadelphia. While the Astros are in the red city, veteran ace Justin Verlander has burned the entire Phillies fanbase with his one gesture.

Right before Houston Astros’ three consecutive World Series games against the Philadelphia Phillies, Justin Verlander may have given a new direction to the entire series. Per a video doing rounds on the internet, Verlander showed his middle finger to the Phillies fans not once, but twice.

And after his gesture, the Phillies fans are criticizing the Astros ace on social media. Taking to Twitter, one fan hit back at Verlander by mentioning his postseason stats. He said, “that’s one more than what he’s won in the WS.”

One fan even said that the Phillies and Mariners own him. Several other baseball fans criticized Verlander for his gesture, while a few fans pointed out that Verlander showed his middle finger only after someone broke his window. 

Notably, one can see the broken window where Verlander is sitting. However, the truth about the window is something else.

After watching the broken window and Verlander’s gesture, many baseball fans blamed the Phillies fans for the same. But Verlander clarified the whole confusion with his tweet.

First, he confirmed that his gesture was in jest and fun, and then the Astros ace also confirmed that no one broke the window.

“Whole interaction was in jest as all the fans around you were just saying hello in their native tongue. So I responded in kind. All in good fun. I enjoyed the banter. Also, nobody broke the window. Was just like that,” Justin Verlander tweeted.
