Ballplayers have been playing organized baseball in some form since the 19th century. Over the decades since then, the game has evolved and rules have changed. But one thing has remained the same; sometimes players go around the rules and use unfair methods to improve their game.
Even in Major League Baseball today, players find ways to bend the rules. The only thing that has changed is that the methods of cheating have become more sophisticated. MLB recently announced a stricter approach to one offense in particular. This has caused fans to mock the League and its top brass, believing that players will anyway find a way to get rid of this rule, too.

Maybe they are. It doesn’t matter if we are using dead balls. Worst offensive season last year in decades and I promise you it wasn’t because pitchers were finding a slightly sneakier way to do what they’ve been doing since 1920 https://t.co/eniuCFkDc9
