The MLB 2023 postseason is having a huge effect on the statistics of the teams involved. Even though the top teams are falling behind in the postseason, it seems like the lower-ranked teams are progressing toward the World Series. One can take the Philadelphia Phillies as a major example. Repeating their 2022 history, the team defeated the Atlanta Braves again this year to qualify for the NLCS. With this feat, they are on their journey to win the NLCS for a second consecutive year. While this is a moment to celebrate, the Phillies’ 30-year-old shortstop got nostalgic about their season. He revealed his feelings as a Phillies player and as part of the team’s 2023 journey.
The season was not easy for the team. They had to walk through a rocky path to reach the NLCS. However, the star shortstop, Trea Turner, doesn’t look back on their journey with regrets. Rather, his point of view is completely different.

The Phillies’ wins are commonly associated with Bryce Harper’s performances. That’s not surprising, as the DH turned up with some of his best performances this year. However, many other players have also contributed to the team’s success, especially Turner. After they successfully qualified for the NLCS, the 2x All-Star player expressed the fact that things turned out different from what he had expected. While previous trades were troublesome for him, with the Phillies, “Baseball was harder, and the life stuff was great.”
?I didn’t think I would stink for 100 games and I did. I thought baseball would have been the easiest thing and usually the life choices are the family and moving and all that is a little harder, in the past, getting traded, stuff like that is a little harder. And this year, it’s? pic.twitter.com/tIQtqNX6h7

Elaborating his life with his team, the player stated, “I liked living here. I liked showing up to the ballpark. It was just a matter of playing good baseball. It’s been different, I would say for sure, but I’ve enjoyed it.” This friendly atmosphere has provided him with the confidence that it could not be any better than what it is now. The emotional player continued his statement, “And I trust myself. I trust my family to make the decisions we’ve made. And it’s been awesome. It’s been fun. This group is special, and I love it. It’s been great.?
Harper and Turner contributed a lot to help their team qualify for the NLCS. The shortstop hit two singles, doubled, and a home run in the last game against the Braves to lead the team to victory. Turner’s latest statements were eerily similar to what Harper had said a few months ago. Both the players uttered almost the same words.

A few months ago, Bryce Harper conveyed the same message
The Phillies outfielder is living his dream this season. However, the scenario was different a few months back. With his injury and TJ surgery, the 2023 season was uncertain for him. However, he not only miraculously recovered in the shortest time, he returned with a bang. Harper gave his team all the credit and expressed almost the same feelings as Turner. Per him, “We got such a great group of guys. I can lean on them whenever I want, whenever I can and that?s the best part of being a Philadelphia Phillies. We are a family.?
