The New York Yankees continued their offensive fiasco in the ALCS Game 2, and as a result, the Yanks are on the verge of getting out of the postseason. Unlike the regular season this year, the Yankees’ offense has been their leading concern in the postseason, especially the dipping form of Aaron Judge.

What is more worrying is that even though the Pinstripes are losing games because of their continuous poor performances, the Yankees players are coming up with new excuses for why they did not win. Recently, the Yankees ace Luis Severino explained why Aaron Judge failed to hit a home run.
The New York Yankees’ ace believed Aaron Judge could not hit a home run because the Astros got lucky
With a close win in Game 2, the Astros are just two wins away from winning the American League pennant and making it to the World Series this year. On the other hand, if the Yankees do not bounce back in Game 3, the Yankees might go trophyless once again.
While talking about Aaron Judge, Severino said the wind helped the Astros in Minute Maid Park. And that was the main reason Alex Bregman’s 91 MPH hit went for a home run, and Judge’s 106 MPH hit did not.
“I mean, he hit it at 91 [mph],” Severino told reporters after the game. “That’s the only thing that I’m going to say. Judge hit it at 106 and it didn’t go out. They got lucky.”
Luis Severino talks about the 3-run home run surrendered to Alex Bregman tonight:

“The wind was blowing,” Severino added. “That was the only reason that ball got out. I made a good pitch in that situation there and that’s it.”

Will the Yankees even challenge the Astros for the ALCS?
As of now, the Houston Astros have not lost a single game in the postseason. And if things do not go south, the Dusty Baker-led team will end up having a historic season this year. Unlike the Astros, the New York Yankees do not have a balanced side.

And that is the main reason the Astros are now favorites to win not only the AL Pennant but also the 2022 World Series. If the Yankees intend to win Game 3, their offense must find a way to hit the Astros pitchers in Game 3. Notably, the Astros pitchers have been brilliant from the mound this year.
