One by one blows keep coming for the Major League Baseball fans. Despite being named All-Star for the 5th and 11th time in their career, Aaron Judge and Mike Trout have now been officially replaced. Set to start next week on Tuesday, July 11th; fans are now showing their discontent with the top players of the league not being in the game. While Judge is sitting on the injured list for the second time this season, Trout recently went on a ten-day IL for breaking his hamate bone. If these two being out from the All-Star game was not enough, their absence from their respective teams’ rosters is clearly visible. Seems like the stars are not aligning for Aaron Judge and Mike Trout.
Although Judge and Trout are not the only players getting replaced, their being out has a visible effect on their fans. Merely hours after Trout exited the game for his supposed wrist injury, it was announced that he wouldn’t be able to play in the All-Star game. Shortly after it happened, MLB announced their replacements in the game. Sufficing it to say, fans are not liking it at all.

Aside from Judge, who is out because of a toe injury, and Trout because of his wrist, LA Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw is also out of the All-Star game because of a sore shoulder. And there are two more, Houston Astros’ slugger Yordan Alvarez and Tampa Bay Rays’ ace Shane McClanahan because of hand injury and mid-back tightness, respectively. To top it all off, Angels’ Shohei Ohtani, because of a blister on his already broken nail, might not be able to pitch in the All-Star game at all.
As per USA Today and esteemed MLB columnist Bob Nightengale, the following are the replacements of the above-listed five players:
- Aaron Judge is getting replaced by Rays’ shortstop Wander Franco
- Mike Trout has given way to Astros’ right fielder Kyle Tucker
- Clayton Kershaw is switched out for Pittsburgh Pirates’ ace David Bednar
- Yordan Alvarez is superseded by Astros’ Julio Rodriguez

And last but not least, George Kirby of the Seattle Mariners is filling in for Shane McClanahan. So far, from the looks of it, baseball fans are upset after watching the replacements, mainly because their favorite stars aren’t playing anymore. But they’re also not hiding their discontent on the same.
Baseball fans are pissed!
While most of the fans are not happy with the replacements, others are saying that this happens almost every year. Have a look at what the fans have to say about the above replacements:
They don't count as an All-Star selection because they're replacements.

Half the league will be named an All-Star by the time we get to the actual game. It's a watered-down award.
