“There’s Nothing Better Than Being a Parent” – Proud Father of Three Little Girls, and Also a Former Baseball Player, Derek Jeter Talked About the Number One Rule He Never Misses on as a Father

A human has to play many roles in this world. A man is his profession, son, brother, husband, uncle, and father. The baseball legend, Derek Jeter, had already experienced every role but one, being a father until five years ago. 

The former baseball player and his supermodel wife, became parents for the first time on August 17, 2017, of Bella Raine Jeter. Then, two years later, they became parents of two more girls. Ever since Jeter became a father, he is enjoying this phase of his life and spending every moment that he can with his kids. 

 Speaking with ‘TODAY with Hoda and Jenna,’ Jeter opened up about being a ‘girl dad,’ the number one rule he lives by for them, among other things.

What is the one rule Derek Jeter tries very hard not to break as a father?

Being a parent comes with a lot of duties, and one of the most important ones is to be there for the kid. And that is the rule that the proud father of three beautiful girls lives by.

“You have to be present in your kids’ lives. People are busy. Both you guys are busy. I’m busy too. But my parents were always present, and I try to be around as much as I can,” the father of three said.

Staying present in the children’s lives is important, not only for the parents but also for the kids. It gives the assurance that if nobody else, their parents are going to be there.

How is Jeter liking the role of a father?

From the looks of it, the former baseball player, Derek Jeter is very much enjoying his life as a father. He lets his girls paint his nails, he wears the kitty necklace, and one of the greatest baseball players, who has never cried, cried when he was leaving his daughter for two days for work. 

In his words, “There’s a lot going on. You know what, there’s nothing better. I mean, you know, there’s nothing better than being a parent. And my girls are unbelievable. They’re all different, and they’re full of experiences.”

His lady love, Hannah Jeter, has watched Derek play for a couple of years, but not one of his daughters has. So, one of the major reasons to make the documentary, ‘The Captain,’ was for his three little ladies to have something to look at what their father used to do.
