But Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper has miraculously recovered from Tommy John surgery. Most recently, the $330 million superstar has created history while announcing his return from baseball.
Harper underwent surgery on November 23rd last year, having been diagnosed with a torn UCL earlier that year. He played parts of the 2022 season at DH and helped the Phillies make a World Series run in the postseason. Now, the outfielder is set for a historic return to baseball as his team struggles this season.

2023 has been a rough year for the Philadelphia Phillies. They have struggled to win games, and currently own a 15-15 win-loss record. But most recently, their superstar outfielder Bryce Harper announced a miraculous return to baseball. He underwent Tommy John surgery in November and is back in less than half a year. Fox Sports: MLB shared a screenshot on Twitter of Harper’s Instagram Post announcing his return. Furthermore, Harper is returning in historic fashion, recording the fastest recovery from Tommy John surgery in MLB history.

In the Instagram Post, Harper says, “Aye Pham. You ready?” A cool way to tell fans that he’s back. Furthermore, in a tweet, Joe Pompliano said, “Bryce Harper had Tommy John surgery in November 2022, and doctors said a July return was optimistic. But Harper will be in the Phillies lineup tonight, just 160 days after surgery. That’s the fastest recovery from Tommy John surgery for any player in MLB history. Incredible 🤯”.

The Phillies star has truly made a gargantuan effort to return as soon as possible to help his team win games. Harper is sure to be rusty after a few months away from the game, but his presence will make an impact. Furthermore, he has made an effort to be more versatile for the team.

In an attempt to offer his manager more options, Bryce Harper has been learning how to play first base. He will probably start his season at DH, while fully recovering his throwing ability. But when he comes back, Harper has expressed a willingness to play at first base at times. This is great determination from the star outfielder as he puts full effort into helping the Phillies win.
