Yandy Diaz is one of the most powerful players on the Tampa Bay Rays, as is witnessed by his progress this season. With a strong physique to rival a wrestler, the first baseman has previously had some trouble with hitting. Where one would expect his home run numbers to give Aaron Judge a hard time, it has not been the case. In fact, in 2022, Diaz only hit nine homers, which disappointed a lot of fans. But 2023 already seems to be going much better.
This season, the Cuban player is on a good trajectory, almost halfway through catching up on his all-time best i.e. 14 home runs in 2019. However, before he can do that, Diaz may need to catch up on taking care of his health.

At the top of the eighth inning, Diaz headed up to the plate to get warmed up. But suddenly, he felt a tightness in his chest as his heart rate went up. Realizing it couldn’t be anything good, he indicated that he couldn’t play. After getting escorted off the field with some help, the Rays first baseman clutched the railing of the dugout as dizziness overcame him. The culprit? Dehydration!

As it turns out, one of the most major issues that all millennials and Gen Z alike also affects baseball players. ?I was a little worried just because I?ve never really felt any kind of pain like that before,? Diaz said through interpreter Manny Navarro.
Once he was removed from the game, medical professionals helped him. Apparently, he had not shown any previous symptoms before. FOX News later reported that Diaz would be re-evaluated on Sunday and the team will act accordingly.
What did fans have to say about this bizarre but scary situation?
