Alex Rodriguez is nothing if not a good father. The former New York Yankees player has achieved accolades that one could only dream of. A World Series champion and named among the greatest baseball players of all time, A-Rod is also a millionaire business magnate. Not only that, but he also owns the NBA team the Minnesota Timberwolves, among various other ventures. And yet, his social media bios read the same four words everywhere – “Proud father of 2”.

Always ready to talk about his daughters, Natasha and Ella, Rodriguez also gives out parenting tips every once in a while. And in a recent discussion, he talked about how a colleague has helped him with his youngest daughter.

Since he comes from humble beginnings, the former Yankee had a very different upbringing than his own kids. As most parents know, the art of raising kids never has a magic solution to every problem. Despite the centuries of existence that humans have made as a society with cultures, most parents are just trying their best. A-Rod is also one of them.

“I think it’s less about what you say and more about what you do. Rachel, who’s sitting here next to me, and has been working with us for years, and I love her for a lot of reasons. But one of the main reasons I love her – she’s really fair and tough with my youngest daughter Ella. And Ella comes home and complains, ‘Oh Rachel’s being this and this and she’s not being fair.’ And I go back to Rachel and say ‘Rachel, congrats, you just got a bigger bonus!’ Because that’s exactly what my daughters need,” A-Rod said in an interview with Harry Stebbings.

He continued, “They need people that are straight, that are real, because fortunately and unfortunately, they didn’t grow up how we grew up. So in a weird way, the more they lose and the more they can learn from those lessons early on. The more people can be straight with them and not BS them, the better they’re gonna be. So Rachel’s helping me and Cynthia become even better parents.”

A-Rod’s older daughter is already spreading her wings as she starts a new chapter of her life.
