When you talk about Aaron Judge, you’re talking about a true New York Yankees legend. Sure, his postseason dilemmas are no secret, but he is the driving force behind the Bronx Bomber’s lineup. And it’s no wonder he got the MVP title this time too. But while finding anything in common with him is difficult, there is one thing anyone can relate to him on. And that’s difficult ranking Drake songs.
The Yankees slugger who blasted 58 home runs and drove in 144 RBIs to take his team to the World Series in 14 years, recently took a swing at some musical rankings. And ranking Drake songs, let’s just say in the end left him a little bummed. Even the MVP struggles here!
Judge was asked to rank his top seven Drake albums. Judge ranked at the top, Take Care. “Marvin Room,” he said, and so that’s untouchable. A solid choice, right? Now coming in second was Nothing Was The Same, a no-brainer for many Drake fans. If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late came in third, and More Life got—all because “Passionfruit,” a song Judge mentioned is his personal favorite. But wait till you hear what is kept for the next songs.

Things got tricky choosing the later ones—and why not? Aaron Judge is a fan of Drake, so he has more favorites than duds. So in the middle tier came Certified Lover Boy and Thank Me Later. Then when he was asked for the song for the last spot. And he mentioned, “Views,” and said, “That one hurts.” But well, hopefully, Drake won’t mind; after all, he and Judge go way back.
The two have been spotted courtside at Madison Square Garden more than just once. They sure turned the Knicks games into a star-studded affair. Last year during a Knicks-Heat matchup, Judge and Drake were at the front along with Tracy Morgan and the New York Yankees’ and Judge’s teammate and friend Giancarlo Stanton.
Well, Aaron Judge’s ranking might ruffle a few feathers when it comes to die-hard Drake fans, but music is personal and subjective. But did you know that the Judge x Drake meetup isn’t what many Yankee fans appreciate—because of the Drake Curse?
Should Aaron Judge be careful of the Drake curse? Is it real?
The Drake Curse, you can call it a running joke or a superstition. But in the sports world, it’s taken as a real problem, and this problem doesn’t differentiate between sports. So it’s really simple—when Drake supports a team or a player, things go down. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, nobody knows, but many fans who have watched their teams go down may blame Drake! And this so-called curse has a history.

Do you remember Alabama’s shocking loss to Clemson in the 2019 National Championships? Guess who had thrown his support behind Crimson Tide—Drake! And the Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov matchup, where Drake was on McGregor’s side, and he lost! Even the Toronto Raptors were affected by this, though they eventually did snag the title.
Then Drake bet a million dollars on the Dallas Mavericks and Edmonton Oilers to win it all, but they both fell short. And when Drake met Judge, at those events, many feared that bad luck would touch him too. Also, there was a time when Drake’s photo rocking an Ohtani jersey came, and that fan thought it was a sign of Shohei Ohtani having a downfall of sorts. But here’s the plot twist—Ohtani didn’t dodge the curse. He won the World Series. So either the curse has lost its edge, or it’s Ohtani being lucky, or it was all a coincidence.
