What can be said about Miguel Cabrera that hasn’t already been already said before? Since his debut in 2003, Cabrera has played with such fervor that he’s earned the respect of fans from different teams. Not to mention his rivals as well. But much like any sports personality, the day comes when they have to give in to the demands of time and take a step back from their sport. Cabrera is now in his last season in Major League Baseball and is getting the honor he probably deserves.

The veteran first baseman has managed to accomplish things that not many players have done in their entire careers. A member of the 3,000 hits and 500 home run club, as well as the 2012 Triple Crown winner – his list of accomplishments is endless. It’s common conjecture among fans that Miggy will most certainly make it to Cooperstown later this decade, and probably in his first year of eligibility. After such an illustrious career, is it any surprise that the Houston Astros, a team Cabrera has never played for, honored him before a game?
