At the start of the season, no one expected the Texas Rangers to make it to the World Series. But surprising all, they not only made it but are one game away from winning their first title. Notably, given the competition, it could not have happened without a team effort. Every player has contributed and supported each other to be successful as a team. On the same note, both Nathan Eovaldi and Nathaniel Lowe are unsung heroes of Texas’s World Series push.

Though the two players have different roles, both have curated a partnership during training, working on many drills. It includes the drill that costs $100 per completion but has been effective. As Nathan Eovaldi got ready to pitch for the World Series, he needed his efforts to yield results. But was that the case?

Training is a big part of every baseball player’s sports journey. It involves multiple exercises and drills, which help players grow. Interestingly, Nathan Eovaldi has also found one such drill at $100 to take benefits from, which also includes his teammate. Notably, Eovaldi has an approach of covering the first base on ground balls. To perfect it, he took help from his teammate Nathaniel.

A post from Front Office Sports focused on the same. It read, “Unlike most pitchers, the Texas Rangers’ Nathan Eovaldi likes covering first base on ground balls. He wanted first baseman Nathaniel Lowe to flip the ball to him more, so he pays him $100 for every grounder he gets to make the out on.”

Interesting and understandably, it has worked for the player. In 144 innings as a fielder, Eovaldi has recorded 12 assists at a fielding percentage of 1.000 at a range factor of 2.12, battering his record of the past seven seasons. However, adding more to it, he has pitched to perfection and also starred in the latest win for the World Series title.

There were many ifs and buts when the Texas Rangers approached Nathan Eovaldi. But the 33-year-old has answered all the questions with a great season. He performed in the league stage with 12 wins and 132 strikeouts. Later he continued the same performance in the postseason, helping the Rangers win the ALCS and now the World Series.

Notably, he started the title-deciding game on a superior note and did not allow the Arizona Diamondbacks to score a single run in six innings. It gave his team a buffer, which helped the offense to add more to the total for the win. It synced with the complete effort Eovaldi put in on and off the field. However, his trick is now out.
