Teoscar Hernandez may be one of the most sought-after names in the off-season, but his future is still up in the air. Part of the reason is his demand for higher pay. After amassing 33 home runs and a WS ring, he wants $66 million to $72 million with no deferrals. This the LA Dodgers don’t seem comfortable with. Hence, Christmas has come and gone, but no updates are here as of yet. But for now, Hernandez is taking a well-deserved break.

Hernandez is enjoying his break with his wife Jennifer and three kids, Julian, Teoscar Jr., and Mateo Javier. The family shared images of their Christmas celebration, and it’s heartwarming. They were all in matching gray pajamas in some lovely festive patterns; plus, Teoscar Hernandez and his family also stood together in front of their nicely decorated tree. It was full of silver, white, and teal ornaments—in short, SPECTACULAR.

Jennifer Hernandez, his wife, shared the beautiful family photos on Instagram with the caption, “Merry Christmas from the Hernández Family 🎄❤️.” The post garnered comments from several fans and even friends and MLB players. Among the fans who wished Merry Christmas to the family was also Natalie Loureda, partner of Bobby Miller from the LA Dodgers.

“Merry Christmas, my friend 💖,” Loureda commented. Plus, Alex Vesia’s partner also said, “Merry Christmas, beautiful people 🎄❤️.” Jenni Gurriel, wife of Lourdes Gurriel Jr., also left a nice comment, and even Chris Taylor’s partner, Mary, commented in awe of the coordinated outfits. “Holy coordination! You all are always so on point! Merry Christmas 💛💚,” said Mary. Clearly, Teoscar is a famous player at the clubhouse and outside it, now enjoying his family time, and it’s easy to see why—baseball has 162 games in the regular season, leaving not much room for personal time.

But Hernandez has been open, saying he looks ahead to the time in the future when the family will take center stage. “I’m a big family guy. I want to be there for my kids. Baseball takes away a lot of time from my family. When I’m done playing—I don’t know, three or four or five years—I’m going to be there for them,” said Hernandez back in June. Well, that’s for the future; as for the near future, whether he remains an LA Dodger or not remains to be seen. Although right now it seems unlikely.

Teoscar Hernandez unlikely to remain a Dodger

Teoscar Hernandez is coming off a great season, and he wants good pay. But a big reason for the hiked-up payday rate is also Juan Soto’s contract, which seems to have upped the outfielder’s rates. But the LA Dodgers too don’t seem inclined to sign Hernandez back. In fact, Dodger Nation’s Doug McKain reported that the contract negotiations have kind of stopped. “What I can tell you, based on my sources, is that the Dodgers and Teoscar Hernández, they haven’t communicated for over a week,” McKain noted on Monday.

McKain mentioned that Hernandez isn’t willing to accept the offer that the Dodgers gave, and the reason is not years but the amount. Right now, it all depends on who will blink first. The LA Dodgers might need to up their amount, or Hernandez might have to take less if he wants to get into the championship-winning team. “For where they’re at right now, the pros outweigh the cons,” McKain added about Hernandez’s chances in the Dodgers.

If not, the LA Dodgers do have other options like Seiya Suzuki—he isn’t exactly at Hernandez’s level, but fits nicely in the lineup. So, do you think that Teoscar Hernandez will be back to play for the Dodgers? Let us know your thoughts.
