More disappointments than joy have echoed in the Bronx this season. The 2009 champions New York Yankees are battling their worst in the last few years and are almost out of the playoff race. Given this has happened after spending $300 million on payroll, the team management, starting with GM Brian Cashman, is under scrutiny. Fans have termed him the reason behind the disastrous season, but captain Aaron Judge feels otherwise.
Notably, in the dim season for the pinstripes, Judge has been the sole light. Even after missing over two months of action, the 2022 MVP has been the only constant. His record-breaking performance in the latest game also justifies the same. But it also brings up the question: did the Yankees GM let him down? Although many would say yes, the star outfielder has other views. While reacting to his record, Judge addressed the same with a thought about a better future.

The New York Yankees are the most successful team in the league with 27 titles. But the story has not been the same since 2009. They have not added to the tally and continuously have strayed away from the success. The situation has become more complicated this season. With Brian Cashman handling the team for over a decade now, the onus has fallen on him for the failure and fans want him to move out. But Yankees favorite Aaron Judge is not in favor of it.
Aaron accepted the reason behind the calls for a change. But he finds them wrong and wants only the true defaulters to be punished. According to the post shared by Gary Phillips, the captain has taken responsibility for the disastrous season. The Yankees home run champion has reacted to the season and said, “The fans aren’t happy, and I think they’re the ones that are showing out every single night and paying a lot of good money to watch us go out here and win some games.”
The outfielder added, “And this year, we haven’t. So I think, as an organization top to bottom, we all take responsibility. But as a player, I feel like we take the most. We’re the ones out there doing it.. the ones out there playing every single night, so I hear their frustration, that’s for sure. We’ll get it right.”

Noticeably, Aaron feels the season could have been better, but mistakes by everyone are the reason behind it. But he also feels that with better performance and contribution, they can improve it. The powerful hitter of the ball showed the same feat that no one has reached before.
Aaron Becomes the First in the Yankees to Reach This Record in One Season
There is no doubt about Aaron Judge’s hitting capabilities. His AL record of 62 Home Runs in a season is a perfect example of it. Given that he was injured before this season, playing with the same prowess looked difficult. But the star player has proved everyone wrong.
Judge after solid outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks, became the first Yankees player to have two, three-home run games in a season. The 31-year-old achieved this feat in the seventh innings of the game. “You know, all those bats I was getting into a good count. Laying out some tough pitches. And, you know, when you do that as an offense, like, we did tonight, you know, good things are going to happen,” addressed the captain.

Given the Yankees have already started preparing for the same, it was an interesting approach from the $360 million star. Not only he defended Cashman but also looked positive for the future, promising to come back stronger.
