2024 was indeed a special year for the Dodgers! They got their World Series title and landed some of the biggest names in the circuit, including the record-breaking deal for Shohei Ohtani. Considering how the Dodgers management works currently, fans can term them as one big family where every member is taking responsibility. Something the Dodgers manager Dave Roberts remarked. The dedication of the players is thus getting reflected and this year also, the Dodgers are the favorite to win the World Series again.
Well, apart from their on-field performance, the Dodgers are initiating most player-centric activities in the team. Remember the recent update that they are holding Chris Taylor to make him eligible for an MLB pension? Quite expectedly, the players will be more than excited to play for such a team. Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki opted for the Dodgers when he had a few other offers as well and cited the development opportunities with the team. So is Roberts confident enough to get back the championship again this time?

This offseason, the Dodgers are one of the lower-ranked teams in terms of trading away players. With only three players being traded away, the retention rate of the Dodgers is significantly higher than that of the other teams. Additionally, the Dodgers are not only about the team and their on-field activities only, rather they are more about the entire Los Angeles and they make sure that players feel excited to represent the franchise.
Best deals, security, and development scope are all the players are getting with the Dodgers. Are all these factors guarantee the best results? No, and the exact reason why Roberts has lauded the players for their last year’s performance.
“They’re excited to go back to back and we know we’ve got to target on our backs and we’re going to be ready to kind of, you know, take hold and own it and repeat us, champs”, said Dave Roberts pointing out about how much the players are ready to get into season. Roberts knows what it takes for the players to offer the best performance and dedication and, thus, irrespective of facilities, it is the players who deserve all the credit for their 2024 championship. He also sounded confident enough about the players to excel this year. Certainly, back-to-back World Series Championships mean a lot in the MLB circuit.
Roberts chasing the championship dream again
When most of the teams are still in the process of fielding a contending team this year, the Dodgers are already chasing their championship dream. The team the Dodgers have this year, especially their deep rotation, can make any manager confident to win the series. For the unversed, Sasaki will be in the rotation behind Ohtani and Yamamoto in pitching! Apart from Sasaki, they have added Kirby Yates, Blake Snell, and Tanner Scott, to name a few.

Each of these players was the hottest free agent available and ultimately ended up with the Dodgers. So yes, chasing the championship dream again would not be a bluff for the Dodgers this year.
Nevertheless, the Dodgers are undoubtedly the most star-studded team this year but not unbeatable. Considering their history of an injury-ridden pitching squad, it will be too soon to conclude that they will bring back the World Series again. With Dave Roberts dropping the onus on the players, it will take their skills to get the series back home for the second consecutive time. Rest assured, the Dodgers are the team to beat this year!
Players look forward to playing for the Dodgers and with such a star-studded team this year, they will start as the favorite, but time will only answer how much that is reflecting in their on-field performance.
