New York Mets’ ace Justin Verlander is undoubtedly the all-time best hurler ever to step foot on the mound. Having played primarily for the Detroit Tigers, Verlander is a nine times all-star player, having won two world series with the Houston Astros. Verlander has had an eventful offseason, signing with the Mets, winning his third Cy Young award, and many more. Adding to the many events, most recently came the ace’s 40th birthday. 

Notably, Verlander’s biggest fan, his wife, Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit model Kate Upton had the greatest surprise planned for her husband. While celebrating the ace’s big day, the model also gave a sneak peek of the celebration to her 6.5 million followers on Instagram.

The thirty-year-old model planned a surprise birthday for her husband’s yet another milestone in life. Needless to say, as soon as the slugger realized it was his big day’s celebration, he had an ear-to-ear smile on his face.

The model shared a series of glimpses of the celebration with her followers, one of which showed the slugger’s entrance to the party. And in the other two, she poured out her love for Verlander and gave a peek at how the celebration went. However, in a separate post, she posted a video showing pictures of the celebration with a beautiful caption to wish the pitcher a great birthday. She applauded her husband by, “HAPPY 40TH JUSTIN! 😍✨ Nothing I love more than watching you live out your dream and be the amazing father that you are… I am so lucky to call you my husband. Wish we could relive this night forever! Happy birthday @justinverlander ❤️ I love you!”

The couple had met years ago in 2012 while shooting for a commercial. But little did they know that they’d found the love of their life by meeting back then. 

Verlander’s fans are thrilled for him

After the model posted the celebration video, her and the slugger’s fans came forward to wish him on his big day. While wishing him a happy birthday, fans also said, “Welcome to NY hope your bday gift this year is a World Series ring w the Mets!!!” and “Hi Kate & Justin (Happy Birthday 🎂) Welcome to the NY Mets! Let’s win a World Series this year! John R. Bell .”
