Major League Baseball’s 2022 playoffs started with a bang, and the San Diego Padres have already wrapped up the wild card series. With the division series scheduled to start this Tuesday, the eight teams are gearing up for the best-of-five series to advance to the championship series.
As the wild card series wrapped up last night, something erratic took place. Which then led the baseball fans to mock the Mets’ manager Buck Showalter and the ump as well.

It all happened when Buck thought of something suspicious going on with the Padres’ pitcher and asked the umpire to check him for any foreign substances. But in the end, the Padres won and with it, made their path clear for the NLDS.
What was fishy about the San Diego Padres pitcher?
In the sixth inning of the game, the umpires came to check the pitcher, Joe Musgrove’s ear for anything unnatural at the request of Mets’ manager Buck Showalter.

Apparently, Buck thought of something fishy going on as Musgrove’s ears look rather shiny than normal. Therefore, Buck made a request, and the crew went on to check him. But nothing was found, and eventually, the game resumed.
Whereas, as the game resumed, the pitcher had to brush off the “cheater” chants. All of it happened in the heat of an important game. Musgrove also talked about what happened on the field. He said that he understands where they (the Mets) are coming from, that they’re desperate and doing everything they can to win.
