It has been a tough week for MLB All-Star Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea Freeman. Their 3-year-old son Max is suffering from Guillain-Barre syndrome and was rushed to the hospital the previous month. Also, earlier in July, Max was diagnosed with transient synovitis, a rare condition also known as irritable hip. Unfortunately, the transient synovitis condition caused inflammation in Max’s body. Usually, it occurs in young kids, as per the National Institutes of Health. Also, if not treated, it could cause difficulty in standing, sitting, or walking.
Explaining her child’s condition, Chelsea Freeman said that her son won’t be able to eat for a few days. Max was admitted to the hospital and received his treatment for irritable hip along with a diagnosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Later, on Max’s arrival home, Chelsea shared an update on her son’s condition, while other renounced social media personalities also gave their good wishes on her Instagram post.

In a recent Instagram post on Sunday, August 4, Los Angeles Dodgers player Freeman and his wife Chelsea shared an update regarding Max’s health. Their recent social media post read, “After 8 long days in the Pediatric ICU we are officially HOME! Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk. But we are so thankful to have our family back together.” Alongside Max’s picture with his parents, there was a notebook in the next post with prayers for Max, written on the covers and gifted to Max by the Freeman family.

Speaking about the Guillain-Barre syndrome Max was suffering, it’s a rare condition. According to the Mayo Clinic, the body’s immune system starts attacking the nerves in Guillain-Barre syndrome. If not treated at the right time, it can cause weakness, numbness, or paralysis. However, there’s no cure for the syndrome, but statistically, most people recover from it under proper care.
Prior to this update, Freddie Freeman was absent from the Dodgers vs. Astros series on Friday. Making his son’s health a priority, Freddie flew back to Southern California to be with his son at the hospital. Maximus has been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks, and after getting treatment for his diagnosis, he can now spend a happy recovery time with his family. With similar hopes for the young boy, tons of well-wishes came from social media icons and other fans who commented on Chelsea’s post.

Last Friday, when Max’s health rapidly declined and went into a full-body paralysis state, lung reinforcement was required. However, now that Max is back home, his well-wishers are spamming Chelsea Freeman’s latest Instagram post. Among the well-wishers, Brittany Mahomes took on social media and wrote, “Such good news.” Indeed, seeing just a 3-year-old child suffering from transient synovitis and a rare Guillan-Barre syndrome is heartbreaking. Furthermore, renounced internet personality Amanda Cerny also shared her heartwarming wishes: “So SO SO happy to hear this news! The last video is soooooo sweet.” In the Instagram post shared by Chelsea Freeman, there was a video where Max was embraced by his brothers Brandon,3, and Charlie, 7, welcoming him at home.
Additionally, well-wishes also came from the former division-1 volleyball player Kirsten Watson. Sharing her message, Watson, said, “We love you Max!! So happy you are home.” It might have been tough for the Freeman family to see their toddler spend eight days at the hospital. Especially noting he was feeling lethargic due to Guillan-Barre syndrome, coming home was a special feeling for his loved ones.

Joining Mahomes and co., internet sensation Krista Horton also welcomed Max back home, remarking, “So so happy he’s back home! Praying for a strong recovery!!!!.” In terms of transient synovitis recovery, it’s fast and might take around 7 to 10 days for Max. However, with Guillain-Barre syndrome, Max’s complete recovery might take 6 to 12 months. Nevertheless, most people can walk again after six months under proper care.

Sharing her feelings in the last video, yet another famous model Suzanna Villa noted, “best news!! crying @ last video welcome home, max.” The last video was truly a heartwarming one for every Freeman fan. Initially, Max’s elder brother Charlie was noted sleeping beside Max, gossiping, which made Max smile. Later, Brandon arrived and charmingly kept his head.
Now that Freddie Freeman’s son Max is finally home, he can spend quality time with the toddler. On the note of him returning to the Dodgers, Freeman hasn’t provided any timeline for the same. As the Dodgers prepare to face the Philadelphia Phillies in a three-match series next up, with Freeman having a batting average of .288 with 16 home runs and a massive .888 OPS, his arrival could further boost the Dodgers lineup and take them a step closer to the 2024 MLB playoff spot. But considering his troubles at the moment, the bigger hope is for young Max to get well soon.
