As a storied MLB franchise, the New York Yankees have had many people contribute to their history. This includes owners, players, managers, and many others who made an impact from behind the scenes. These figures became etched in the Yankees’ history forever. Most recently, they paid respects to a long-time member of the Yankees family with an honorable gesture. 

The New York-based team has lost more than one member of its family this year. Earlier in 2023, the Yankees lost a legend from the Mickey Mantle era. And now, they mourned the loss of another member of their family. 

The New York Yankees paid respects to Steve Fisher

The Yankees organization has had many people contribute and support it over the years. Most recently, they paid respect to Steve Fisher, a long-time member of the Yankees’ family. They did so by honoring his death with a moment of silence at Yankee Stadium.

Furthermore, they even paid respects to him by showing his picture on their billboard. The team ssherhared the news of his death and paid respects to him via Twitter.

In a Tweet, the Yankees said, “Tonight, we held a moment of silence to remember Steven Fisher, who was a long-time member of the Yankees family.” This was a great way to honor Fisher, who was part of Fisher Brothers, a real estate firm that has been in New York for decades.

The reactions to the tribute were wholly positive. 

Some fans called him a legend.

Other fans paid their respects to him.

Fisher was a great member of the community, he and his family have been involved in a lot of charity. There were some fans who were dismayed that the legend could not see the Yankees in good form before his death.

The Yankees are struggling to start the season

In a pivotal season, the New York Yankees have struggled out of the gates. They currently own a 16-15 win-loss record and sit at the bottom of the AL East. Injuries and poor form have plagued the team as they aim for the World Series.

At this rate, they may not even make the postseason. Only time will tell if the Bronx Bombers can turn things around and reach the Fall Classic.
