Two dominant hitters from the plate, Alex Rodriguez and Barry Bonds will go down as two of the best entertainers of the game ever. The two graced the sport and had many achievements during their career. Given their success, the baseball world expected them to make it to the Baseball Hall of Fame. But because of their well-known PEDs linkups, they are yet to get that honor. Notably, Bonds and Rodriguez have been accused of using performance-enhancing drugs.

As becoming a Hall of Famer is an enormous achievement, the noninclusion of Bonds and Rodriguez has always been a point of attraction. The latter has accepted that he might not make it to Cooperstown but showed his support for Bonds during the Hall of Fame Debate.

Rodriguez has been very vocal about his journey as a player. It includes his thoughts on the PED scandal that affected his baseball career and the shades of it that follow him till now. He shares a different idea on the incident for the self but has a varied understanding of the issue for other players. He reflected on the same during his conversation with ESPN journalists in 2019.

They asked Rodriguez, “Should they vote Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens into the Hall of Fame?” To it, he answered, “Well, look, I don’t have a vote, but what I will tell you is the greatest single pitch I’ve ever seen in my life that I played with and against is Roger Clemens. And the same goes for Barry Bonds.”

The hosts added to the question with a take on PEDs. Given that Alex faced a ban once, he shared a descriptive view of the issue. The winner of the 2009 World Series said compared their record and success on the field. He said,” If you stopped their career at the age of 33 or 34. They were both first ballot and then the noise started. So for me, it’s just a shame. I am certainly cheering for both of them. I like them both very much. They’re both friends. And I’m in their corner.”

Alex Rodriguez had his view on the case, with which the hosts agreed. They also pointed to the careers of Rodriguez and Bonds to make the case, which is brilliant.

Both Bonds and Rodriguez were one of the big hitters of the game. Bonds hold an experience of over 2900 games. He had 2227 runs and 762 home runs at an OPS of 1.051. In comparison, Alex scored 2021 runs and had 696 home runs to his credit. The career of both players is an inspiration for the upcoming generation. Alex said the same with a message that PED usage shouldn’t ban players from the Hall of Fame. Will his viewpoint get backing in the future? Only time will tell!
