With a payroll that surpasses $300 million, the New York Mets have among the most formidable lineups this season. Within this extremely talented group is superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor, who moved to the Mets in 2021 and signed a whopping $341 million contract for ten years. Adding to their on-field power is the strategic and brilliant mind of Buck Showalter.

The interaction with Buck and Lindor started off with the shortstop, saying, “I’m doing the interview because you weren’t here.” However, Buck had an instant response ready, as he said, “I’m in there talking about you. If you quit playing well, I wouldn’t have to talk about you. He has a big day coming up.”

Lindor, who batted two runs in against the Padres at Citi Field, moved to speak about his daughter, who has expressed her adoration toward skipper Buck in the past too. The four-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner revealed that Buck Showalter was his daughter’s favorite person in the Mets setup, and he said, “My daughter. She loves Buck. This morning, when I was getting dressed to come to the field, she was telling my wife ‘Mom, bye.’ I was like, ‘Where is she going?’ She’s like, ‘Field, Buck!'”

Lindor rhetorically responded to his daughter by saying, “No, no, no! I’m going to go [to the field], you’re going to go watch the game. Then after the game, you can come say hello to Buck.”
