Albert Pujols has successfully and remarkably entered history books after smashing his 700th homer against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. The baseman made his MLB debut with the Cardinals back in 2001. He won two World Championships with them and moved on to find a new home in LA.
From 2012 to 2021, Pujols played with the Angels and then signed a one-season contract with the Dodgers. Finally, he came back to the Cardinals to play his final season and complete a full circle.

Pujols entered 2022 with 679 home runs. No one would’ve expected him, at the age of 42, to smash 23 more home runs in his last season. Markedly, the two homers came against the LA Dodgers before the Redbirds conquered them 11-0 at Dodger Stadium.
What prediction did Greg Amsinger make about Albert Pujols?
Balanced against Albert Pujols’ chase to 700, Greg Amsinger, an American commentator, made a prediction about Albert Pujols in early 2022. 5 months down the line, somehow, everything that Amsinger said came true. And in effect, Albert Pujols smashed his 700th home run and joins Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, and Hank Aaron.
"Conectará el jonrón número 700 de su carrera como visitante. El viernes por la noche en Los Ángeles en septiembre…" – Greg Amsinger el 13 de abril de 2022.
¿Es esta la mayor predicción deportiva de todos los tiempos?

In the MLB Network video, Amsinger says, “He will reach 700 career home runs. But I do have bad news Cardinal fans, he’s going to hit his 700th career home run on the road.”
He continued to add another layer to his prediction and said, “Friday Night, at Los Angeles in September against his former teammate.” Now, 5 months down the line, everything he said has come true.
St. Louis Cardinals in 2022
Apart from Albert Pujols’ return and unexpected success, the Cardinals are having a season to remember. Despite having an 89-64 ratio, the Cardinals are comfortably sitting at the top of the National League Central Division at 0.582.
Moreover, they also have unofficially secured their postseason berth by having a significant lead over the Milwaukee Brewers, who are second in the Central Division. Analogous to that, the Cardinals have qualified for the postseason every year since 2019. However, they haven’t been able to successfully convert the postseason results and have failed to reach the playoffs.
Pujols has won two World Championship rings with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006 and 2011. Can the Cardinals surprise everyone and drive through till the World Series?
