Fernando Tatis Jr. is a popular shortstop for the San Diego Padres. He has already established a reputation as a prolific home run scorer through his powerful batting. His athletic defense makes him a more valuable asset. Tatis Jr. is a one-time All-Star player and was the National League home run leader in 2021.?

A proven match-winner, Tatis Jr. made his MLB debut for the Padres in 2019. Since his drafting, he has remained a matter of pride and one of the brightest prospects for the Padres. But that was until this year when he recently got busted for PED intake. His life has not been the same since.?

Fernando Tatis Jr: Steroid, suspension, and contract terminations?

Fernando Tatis Jr. is a talented youngster and an iconic rising superstar who is undergoing a season of infamy. Tatis Jr. was recovering from a wrist injury that made him sit out for the most part of this season. He looked all set and on course to make a comeback. His return would have bolstered the Padres’ attack, who have presently recruited some enigmatic players.?

But Tatis Jr. ended up failing a test for the banned substances, as he tested positive for Clostebol. Therefore, due to the presence of a banned substance, the MLB administration suspended him with immediate effect. Following on, the disappointed Padres authorities canceled a planned Tatis Jr. bobblehead giveaway. Rubbing salt on the wounds, leading global sports merchandise ‘Adidas’ too has terminated their contract with the star athlete.?

According to a report, addressing the issue, an ‘Adidas’ spokesperson said, “We believe that sport should be fair. We have a clear policy on doping and can confirm that our partnership with Fernando Tatis Jr. will not continue.”?

In reply, Tatis Jr. apologized by saying, “I have let so many people down. I have lost so much love from people. I failed. I have failed all of them. I have failed to the front office of the San Diego Padres, Peter Seidler, AJ Preller. I have failed to every fan of this city.

“I have failed to my country. I have failed my family, parents. I’m really sorry for my mistakes. I have seen how my dreams have turned into my worst nightmares,” Tatis Jr. concluded.

The bleak future ahead for a stained talent?

Tatis Jr. is serving his suspension term in effect from August 12 onwards. All remaining regular season games and any postseason outings that the Padres partake in will count towards the 80-game ban. The opening games of next season will also enter into the count. The Padres’ Star slugger will get his shot to salvage lost pride only after the full sentence is served.?
