Getting married and creating baseball history are not conceptually related. Making history in baseball generally brings the concept of a player playing incredibly well and setting a record. That’s a common and imaginable trend. However, what happened during Thursday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves added a new chapter to the incredible MLB history.
In MLB, players often perform exceptionally well, breaking or creating records. However, the Atlanta Braves outfielder, Ronald Acuña Jr, is different because he made the record on the most special day of his life- his wedding day.

The Atlanta Braves star arranged a sudden wedding for himself and his girlfriend, and on the same day, he was faced the Los Angeles Dodgers. With a note, he sends his wife a message saying, “For the rest of my life, I hope you never forget this incredibly special day for us.” Well, he made it for her.
Ronald Acuña Jr. planned to get married in the offseason. But his fiancée’s visa was set to expire, keeping her and the kids away for 3 months. He wanted them here for the stretch run. An LA wedding was arranged in 24 hours.

Prior to guiding the Braves to an 8-7 victory against the Dodgers on Thursday night, Acuña tied the knot with his fiancée, Maria Laborde, in an intimate ceremony held at a mountain house located approximately 45 minutes away from the team’s hotel.
After his wedding, Acuña’s grand slam shattered the 1-1 deadlock in the second inning and established him as the inaugural player to achieve a season with 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases.
Conveying his genuine feelings, Ronald said, “I feel very happy, I feel very special. I’m very thankful, I feel very privileged.” However, this raises the question of what suddenly motivated the Braves star to devise this plan?

Ronald Acuna Jr. and his girlfriend, Maria Laborde, had been in a relationship for years with two kids. Laborde, his then-girlfriend, and now-wife, used to live in Venezuela with two their kids, couldn’t visit him often. So, this 4x All-Star not only planned a sudden wedding but presented her with the most precious memories of her life. Hence, the emotion overflown after having two best experiences within 24 hours.
Like others, he always wanted his family to go to the baseball games together, cheer for him during special moments, but the visa issues won’t ever let it happen. And it was only possible when they get married. Through a translator, Acuna said, “I didn’t mention anything to anybody. It’s something that I’ve had planned out weeks ahead.” So, this time, as his girlfriend and children came, he asked his manager to arrange the fastest wedding possible to keep his family with him forever.
