Clayton Kershaw surpasses Don Sutton for most strikeouts in the Dodgers’ history
Although the Dodgers lost the game to the Detroit Tigers, Kershaw stole all the limelight. When Kershaw came to the mound, he already had 2693 career strikeouts in his name. He needed just four strikeouts to surpass the Dodgers legend and a Hall of Famer, Don Sutton’s 2696 career strikeouts for the Dodgers. And guess what? Kershaw not only broke Sutton’s record, but he touched the 2700 career strikeouts mark.
Talking about his achievement and sheer consistency, the Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was all praise for his ace. He said that it speaks volumes about his longevity and consistency. And getting this achievement in front of home fans, it made even more special.

“I am excited for him… Obviously, it speaks to longevity, consistency and it’s going to add to his lore in not only Dodgers but baseball history… I think for a fan base that has followed him his entire career, so told to mentally reach this milestone at home.
