It’s been rough for the New York Yankees, but things are finally looking up. Although there still needs to be a concrete update about the captain’s return, Aaron Judge‘s absence may not be so detrimental anymore. The second coming of Derek Jeter is finally here to save the day. After a rollercoaster of a season, Anthony Volpe is back to his successful rhythm; all it took was a meal with old friends.

With less than 100 plate appearances in Triple-A, Bronx fans wondered about the Yankees’ decision to promote Volpe to the big leagues. The 22-year-old is undoubtedly a powerhouse of talent. But his lack of experience proved to be counterproductive for a while in June. Due to a single dinner, Volpe is back to being a prodigy. Isn’t is incredible?

After suffering through repeated fan demands of minor league demotion, Volpe is proving why he was worth the promotion in the first place.

A tiny detail has done wonders for the New York Yankees

In a meeting with Austin Wells, friend and former teammate, Volpe realized some essential facts. As Gary Phillips of Daily News reported, the two players were running old home run clips on an iPad. But as the night went on, both noticed how Volpe’s stance could be different.

“Kind of a little stuff with my stance and how I set up to hit,” he said. “It was so small, but we both kind of noticed it and started talking about it. I think we both took a lot away from it.” At the next game, Volpe tested out his theories and ended up helping the Yankees win against the Mets.
