Derek Jeter has been quite the busy bee lately. After retiring from a highly successful career in baseball, one would assume he would be enjoying a leisurely life. But instead of slowing down, Jeter has easily kept up the same pace as before. In addition to becoming a father again, one of the biggest responsibilities that he handles is the Turn 2 Foundation. The former Yankee founded the charity a year after his rookie year in 1996. Now, along with his sister Sharlee, he is back with one of the biggest events of the year – the Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament.

The organization has done a lot of good over the years for kids; the aim being to turn teenagers towards healthy lifestyles. But now, as they kick things off for the annual tourney, Sharlee just announced some big news.

For the unversed, Jeter’s golf game has taken place in the Bahamas in recent years. Particularly, at the Baha Mar resort on the island of New Providence in Nassau. The resort is an apt representation of the island and has been popular ever since its opening. But in addition to the hotel facilities, Baha Mar has also been working on expanding its resort foundation.

And the Jeters clearly want to help in any way they can. The Turn 2 Foundation’s Instagram page announced a few hours ago, “@sjeter2 announced that #Turn 2 will be donating $50,000 to support the Baha Mar Resort Foundation!” The next story showed the siblings with a large check in hand and the caption read, “Since its opening in 2017, @bahamarresorts has supported a wide range of causes pertaining to community, culture, and conservation throughout The Bahamas, and we are proud to support their efforts.”
