As MLB season moves to the postseason affair, things are getting heated. From teams battling it out to players fighting for the top crown, everything is adding to the fire. And an incident on the baseball field has added more to competitiveness. It happened after NL MVP leader Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves was pushed down by the fans, bringing some seriousness to the safety of the players.
Though players love connections with fans, anything more than that creates a problem. The same was visible in the entire incident that left Acuna perplexed. Though the MLB world loves fan-player interaction, this incident left them worried. Given that Acuna is expected to win the MVP award, any injury here could hurt its chance and benefit others in the race. This was the notion of fan reaction as they shared their thoughts by taking Lionel Messi‘s help on the incident while sarcastically blaming the security team for it.

Although fan interactions are lovely, there are a few which are unlikable and scary. A similar interaction happened after a few fans hugged and pushed Ronald Acuña Jr. down during the game. It happened during the game between the Atlanta Braves and the Colorado Rockies. Although the incident needs investigation, thankfully, Acuna was not injured. He stood up his ground and finished the game of the solid note. He scored four runs with five RBIs and recorded an average of 0.800 at an OPS of 2.433.
Reportedly, after this, Acuna is tied for fourth in the league on average. The $100 Million contracted player is sixth at the OPS and in the top 20s with his 29 home run. He is ahead of all the competitors, including Mookie Betts, in the race for NL MVP.
Many advocate Betts deserved this title, which brought fans into the conflict. And they saw the latest incident involving Acuna as an addition to it. MLB World also indicated the same while bringing Betts into the conversation. A few fans brought Lionel Messi’s in-game bodyguard into the picture, who defends the Inter Miami star from any such attack.
Fans React Strongly to the Unfortunate Incident
Baseball fans are very passionate about their favorite players. They want to be included in their success and win, going extra miles to do the same. It may also include breaching the security to have a meet and greet. But, sometimes their actions are not justifiable.
