Aaron Judge is in a hurry. He is in a race to 61 homers and to bag a massive contract after entering free agency year. Markedly, Aaron Judge is leading the list of homers in 2022 at 50. Given the Yankees’ position, they’ll definitely make the postseason, which gives Judge more time to break some records.

In a single MLB season, Barry Bonds leads the number of homers at 73. However, in the American League, Roger Maris from the NY Yankees is topping the list with 61 home runs. Balanced against that, in a losing cause against the LA Angels, Aaron Judge hit his 50th homer of the season, getting closer to Roger Maris.

Considering Aaron Judge’s current speed, he will easily cross Roger Maris’ record. Kevin Maris, one of Roger Maris’ six kids maintained that he would like to continue seeing his father hold the record. However, at the same time, Kevin said, “We couldn’t be more proud in what he accomplished. Sixty-one is a unique number.”

Markedly, Kevin Maris played in the minor leagues for one year. While talking about how his entire family, Kevin said, “But [the family] would be excited for [Judge if] he is able to achieve [the] monumental task.” He continued to add, “It’s something that is a unique record, one of the best in sports. Being all praises for Aaron Judge, Kevin continued by saying, “Dad would be excited to know the caliber of kid he is, the type of player he has been, how he represents himself on and off the field. You don’t have many complete players these days. It’s refreshing to see the humble side.”

What next for the New York Yankees?

The New York Yankees are safely situated above Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the American League East Division. Moreover, the Subway Series victory brought an end to their long drought of losses and rejuvenated the Yanks. Taking into consideration Aaron Judge’s splendid form and the well-renowned Yankee attitude to break the postseason, 2022 may be their year.
