Most recently, during a Spring Training game between the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins, pitcher Pablo Lopez faced off against Anthony Volpe not once, but twice. He heaped praise on Volpe’s ability to adjust his approach at the plate after just one play, leading to a homer in the third inning after getting struck out in the first.

Here’s what Lopez said, “He saw what he saw from me, and then he went to the plate with a better understanding and idea. Then he executed the plan. That shows a lot of maturity. That shows a lot of promise.”
