Without any warning or signal, the Tampa Bay Rays shunned everyone with their incredible consistency. While all eyes were on the big market Yankees, Angels, Mets, Dodgers, and Houston Astros, it was the Tampa Bay Rays that emerged with purportedly the “best offense” and now stand comfortably at the top of the highly competitive AL East, consisting of teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Red Sox, and Orioles.
It was only their offense that shocked the MLB world, making them one of the early favorites for the Fall Classic this year. However, when the Rays came up against the defending champions, Houston Astros, the Dusty Baker-led team shocked the Rays in consecutive games. Although the Astros did not start their season well, they proved why they are once again the favorites to win the prestigious title and took a dig at the Rays.
Do the Tampa Bay Rays really have the best offense?

Notably, after winning the first game of the series, and displaying a powerful offense since opening day, the Rays lost two consecutive games 0-1 and 0-5 against the Houston Astros. In the two games, the Astros allowed only seven hits and made sure to rub salt in the Rays’ wound, by taking to social media a salty caption,
“Back-to-back shutouts vs. the “best offense in baseball.”As expected, fans from Tampa brought back “trash can” and “cheater” comments to respond to the Astros, while their own fans celebrated the victory and big plus as the season makes progress.

Following the game, Astros skipper Dusty Baker had only words of praise for 24-year-old Huner Brown. Baker said, “He was very good. He had command of his fastball, breaking stuff, had a good changeup tonight against some tough lefties.”
