Shohei Ohtani has more than proven his immense baseball talent, be it on the mound or in the batter’s box. And yet, there’s something more he can do, a skill that he has kept hidden from the world. The Japanese phenom is a big manga fan – he once used the ending theme of Jujutsu Kaisen as his walkup music in 2022. After all, who doesn’t love Gojo Sensei and Nanami Kento?
But that love for manga and anime has translated into something much bigger. A recent X post has fans questioning – is there anything Shohei Ohtani cannot do?

Shohei Ohtani has been making headlines this offseason – nothing unusual for the two-time unanimous AL MVP. There’s another shonen manga that has drawn Ohtani’s interest. As can be seen from the sketch, he has drawn Hisashi Mitsui, a character from the popular series Slam Dunk. It’s not surprising that one of the greatest sportsmen of this generation happens to be a fan of sports mangas. But what caught the internet’s eye was the quality of his art. Some even called for Ohtani to use a pseudonym and start writing mangas as well.
This is not even the first time Shotime has showcased his drawing talents. He once made an appearance on a Japanese TV show where he made a sketch of his first pet, Ace, and B.B., the mascot of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. It seems like apart from baseball, there are several other talents that make Ohtani a well-loved figure around the globe.

A few days ago, pictures emerged of the two-way star cooking meals for himself. It was rumored that he didn’t know how to cook when he first moved to the US and worked on learning it. As the pictures showed, Ohtani has clearly become quite adept in the art of using the knife.
A born athlete, Shotime is also an impressive swimmer. His high school coach lavishly showered praise on him when he said that Ohtani was fast enough to make it to the Olympics. So maybe the fans are right, Shohei Ohtani can actually do everything.
