Shohei Ohtani’s pupper has been making cameos quite often these days. Be it in interviews or business partnerships, Dekopin has taken the internet by storm. More than the Unicorn! This little ball of fluff was seen dominating another little ball of fluff as a part of the two-way phenom’s newest deal.

The doggo that recently got its honorary visa from the U.S. Embassy in Japan has lit up the fans of the newly acquired Los Angeles Dodger as he shares an important association with the videogame series Power Pros. Congratulations to him and Decoy

Shohei Ohtani posted a series of 2 Instagram stories. One, where his pet posed as an opponent to the Konami plushy, and the other in which Decoy gave a triumphant look to the camera, standing next to what looked like a ‘destroyed and defeated’ version of the toy. Now that’s one way to take on the multi-billion dollar company!

It all started when Ohtani was appointed as the baseball game ambassador by Konami Group Corp.’s content unit. The 30th anniversary of Konami’s videogame series Power Pros called for this honor. Moreover, it marked the spinoff Professional Baseball Spirits’ 20th anniversary. This is not the only brand the MVP has been associated with.

Following his iconic $700 million deal with Los Angeles, the baseball superstar Ohtani used his newfound leverage to benefit sponsors, like Kose and Seiko. He has publicly displayed support for these brands. This move also ignited an interest from new potential partners, like Dip Corp., who are looking to have him as their brand ambassador through their active campaigns. That said, Ohtani’s Dutch Kooikerhondje’s role in his off-court appearances is large. An instance from a few days ago comes to mind.

‘Decoy’ aka Shohei Ohtani’s Furry Friend Gets a Special Pass

The pitcher-hitter posted an IG story a couple of days ago of a fake visa for Dekopin aka Decoy identified as ‘000MVPUP000’. His age was mentioned as ‘N/A Dog Years’ and his control number was noted as ‘000GOODBOY000’. Not to mention his visa type – ‘canine’. This honorary passport clearly mentions that the pupper holds dual nationality for Japan and the U.S.

It was Rahm Emanuel, the former mayor of Chicago and current U.S. Ambassador to Japan, who met the baseball phenom and gave him a mock visa. This looked like one designed particularly for Ohtani’s travel companion. Well, travel or business, Ohtani’s furry friend is more than just his pet.
