A resurfaced video has been making the social media rounds lately. What is so special about it? Shohei Ohtani. In the video, the ?Shotime? can be seen in a blue shirt practicing with his gloves on. In a moment of sheer comedy, as he is about to pitch, we can see Ohtani moving his face and hand in a way that is reminiscent of his countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Seeing their favorite in a rare lighthearted moment as he imitates Yamamoto’s trademark style must have brought a smile to his fans’ faces. More so, perceived as being media shy, it is not every day that one gets to witness the generational star in a lighter mood.

Yamamoto itself is a name that has been gaining traction of late. Often regarded as the best pitcher in Japan, the 25-year-old is slated to be an MLB free agent soon. With the right-hander tossing an entire game on 138 pitches just last Friday in Japan, including 14 strikeouts, he has left a serious impression on potential MLB teams. Although the two have broken out to display their prowess in MLB history, they are not the first ones to do so.
